Clovis at HFF Fest
The short film Clovis, written and directed by Agatino Zurría, is set to open the fourth night of the third edition of the Hollywood Florida Film Festival, which begins on February 7th with an opening night that includes a fashion show, a dance show, the showing of the documentary Qué Pasó? and the kickstart of the festival by its co-founders Minh Collins and Simona Muresa.
Each day of the festival ends with an themed afterparty, all leading to the Closing night, on Sunday 11th, in which the jury will reveal the Best in Show.
What's special about this year, is that they have included awards for acting categories, so Clovis is not only competing for Best Short, Best Director and Best Original Short, but also Best Actress and Actor in a short.
Clovis takes on a very current subject matter: sexual abuse inside the family nest. It is an intense drama in which characters are isolated by ages of sexual power. The film was ready before the #MeToo movement became strong in the United States, and now it has become part of it.
On Saturday night, Clovis will open the block of 8 shorts, and afterwards, its cast and crew will participate in a Q&A. Actors Lizandra Parra, Mireya Kilmon, Demitri Vardoulias, Mark Kroczynski and Angela Carbonaro will attend the evening along with Assistant Director Luba Parra, Producer Aurelina Romero and Writer-Director-Producer Agatino Zurría.
With the official selection at the Hollywood Florida Film Festival, Clovis begins its festival run and waits for more festivals to accept it.
