Best Costume in Florence

Angela Carbonaro won for Best Costume Design at the 2020 Annual Florence Film Awards for her work in the short film INTERVIEW WITH MARILYN, produced by Aurelina Romero and Agatino Zurría and Directed by Agatino Zurría.

The Awards Ceremony was scheduled to be held at the Odeon Theater, in the Heart of historic Florence, Italy, but the Covid-19 outbreak made it impossible, so the organizers cancelled the event and did a Global Streaming of the Winners via Facebook on April 18th.

Angela Carbonaro was born in Sicily, spent most of her life in Venezuela where she graduated in Arts from the Armando Reverón School of Arts, and moved to the United States, where she works with Agatino Zurría in the Costume Design and Make Up departments. In 2019, she won the TWNY Award for Best Make Up for the short film AUREA.

Angela’s work in Interview With Marilyn started early in the production, selecting the right iconic dress for each scene and mood. Along with Agatino Zurría, they decided on the most expressive wardrobe for each scene, so that audiences would respond immediately to where they have seen those dresses before and in what kind of scene.

This prestigious win adds to the other awards, Honorable mentions, Finalist, Semi-Finalist and Official Selections, making this a great year for Interview with Marilyn. Many of the film’s fans are asking “Where can we see it?”. That’s the next step: searching for the right platform to make the film available to the masses.
